We are asking voters to renew the emergency medical service (EMS) levy for ten years at 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation (AV). Our EMS levy expires at the end of 2010. Renewing the EMS levy will maintain emergency service levels for families and businesses in our community. The Key Peninsula Fire Department has enjoyed the priveledge of providing these services to the community for over 2 decades.
The EMS levy requires a 60% +1 "Yes" vote to pass. If the EMS levy is not renewed, twelev of the 24 emergency response personnel will be laid off and there will be NO guarantee of ALS response with paramedics.
