This simple card could save your life
There’s a new program at Key Peninsula Fire that could save your life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. It’s called File of L.I.F.E., . L.I.F.E. stands for Lifesaving Information For Emergencies and the idea is so simple you might wonder why no one has thought of it before.
The kits come with a blank medical information form, a File of L.I.F.E. pouch and magnet. You can pick one up at any station. Here’s how they work:
- Complete the form with your vital medical information, such as important phone numbers, preferred hospital, medical conditions, insurance information, medications you take; it even has boxes to check for Power of Attorney and “Do not resuscitate.”
- Put the completed form in the pouch and place it on your refrigerator door.
Why the refrigerator? Because emergency responders have been trained to look for the file in that location.
Pick up a File of L.I.F.E. today; complete the form and place it on your refrigerator. It’s more than a cool idea, it could save your life!
